ASSOCIATION CONSULTING SERVICE SOLD

TOPEKA , KANSAS - The Board of Directors of the Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (KAHSA) and the Aging Research Institute (ARI) announces the sale of ARI's consulting service. Former KAHSA CEO/President John Grace is the CEO of the new independent company, which will retain the name ARI.

KAHSA launched the consulting service in 2005 to provide high quality, integrated assistance with strategic planning, executive search, operational improvement and facilities planning for its members and other not-for-profit aging service providers.

KAHSA President Debra Zehr commented about the sale, "Numerous KAHSA members have been served through the outstanding consulting services developed by ARI under John's leadership. Our board determined that it is now in the best interest of the association to get out of the direct consulting service delivery. We wish the new company great success and look forward to partnering with John and his team in new ways to fill the needs of our members and the people they serve."

Aging Research Institute was formed in 1988 as a 501(c )( 3) affiliate of KAHSA to engage in applied research, analysis, writing and training to foster the highest quality of life and care for older Kansans. KAHSA will retain it's 501(c )( 3) as an affiliate to continue with its tax-exempt activities. A new name for the 501(c )( 3) will be announced in mid-February.

KAHSA, a 501(c )( 6) trade association formed in 1954, represents 160 not-for-profit retirement communities, nursing homes and other aging service providers throughout the state. Together KAHSA members serve over 20,000 older Kansans and their families.
