Education
KAHSA provides over 70 educational sessions and conferences per year to individuals in the aging services field. We strive to infuse the pillars of culture change into each of our educational offerings. Our major Conferences include:
1. Spring Convention and Tradeshow: Typically held each year in late April, KAHSA members come together to network, learn about the latest trends in long-term care and share best practices with their peers.
2. Fall Leadership Conference: This 1-day conference is held in late-September or early October annually. The topics focus on enhancing and strengthening the leadership abilities of CEO’s, Executive Directors and Administrators. The KAHSA Annual Business Meeting is held each year during the Fall Leadership Conference.
3. Activity Directors/Social Services Conference: The goal of this conference is to provide education about the latest trends in elder life enhancement. Participants also get the opportunity to network with their peers.
4. Nurse Leaders Conference: Held each year in November, nurses from around the state gather to learn about cutting-edge clinical trends for older adults. A major component of this conference is to provide leadership training to all levels of nurses to help them become leaders in their organizations. It is one of the most anticipated conferences of the year by our members.
Many other one-day workshops, webinars, insiders guides and retreats are also held throughout the year. Some of the topics include:
• Regulatory Issues
• Risk Management
• Culture Change and Person-Centered Care
• Clinical Care
• Public Policy
• Leadership
• Fire Marshall
• Abuse Neglect and Exploitation
TLC
An excellent benefit to the membership includes KAHSA’s “The Learning Club” (TLC). For a nominal yearly cost, members receive additional discounts on our educational offerings throughout the year.
