KAHSA Announces New Board Members

TOPEKA, KS – The Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, a trade association serving nonprofit aging services providers across the state, announced today the appointment of Tom Williams and John Harned to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Williams has over 25 years of experience in the aging services field as an executive and licensed nursing home administrator in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Florida. He currently services as President and CEO of Asbury Park, a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Newton, Kansas. Williams has also served on the Board of Directors for KAHSA’s sister association in Missouri. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration from Wichita University and a Masters in Human Relations from Webster University in St. Louis.

Mr. Harned is currently Executive Director of Tallgrass Creek, an Erickson Retirement Community, in Overland Park. He has served Erickson Retirement Communities since 2005 in Maryland, Texas and now Kansas. Like Mr. Williams, he has a distinguished history of serving seniors with a mission-driven focus and passion for leadership. Mr. Harned brings a background of accounting to the KAHSA Board which strengthens its diversity. He holds a Bachelors and Masters in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and recently completed his Master of Theological Studies from Ave Maria University.

Mr. Williams and Mr. Harned will join 10 other individuals on the Board of Directors including Jim Morford, KAHSA Board Chair.
