More Details about Medicaid Cuts to NF and HCBSKAHSA has been notified that, effective with dates of service on and after January 1, 2010, Medicaid payments to long term care facilities will be reduced by 10 percent. In addition several services currently reimbursed by HCBS will be dropped (assistive technology, sleep cycle support and dental) and reimbursement for plans of care will be reduced by 10%. The reduction will not affect the patient liability portion of the rate. We will learn more specifics next week. Additional information will be published in the Kansas Register on December 17th. KDOA Secretary Martin Kennedy will be testifying on the reductions before the Legislative Health Oversight Committee next Thursday. Look for a survey from KAHSA on Monday to help us communicate the impact of the reimbursement reductions on members’ residents, organizations and communities. If you have not already done so, it is imperative that you invite your legislators to visit before January 12 to discuss this critical issue. |
